The
British Bewildered
Faces stoic and curiosity cloaked, Britons became...bewildered. When the British saw the Camera Van coming, a very large percentage of them merely ignored it, as though nothing in their genetic makeup could prepare them for such a wild anomaly. One line sums up the reaction of those who dared venture close: "May I look at your van?" What an amazing concept! To need permission to see! The Camera Van, by and large, was looked upon in London and the surrounding countryside as something of a space ship and Harrod its captain. But no matter. The cameras snapped away and the results are every bit as revealing of this culture as those of the more aggressive and unpredictable Americans. Feast your eyes on The British Bewildered! |
